series of sketches, drawings and manuscripts, which are now collected in the famous <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Codex_Atlanticus\">Leonardo da Vinci\u2019s Codex<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Leonardo planned a <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Navigli\">canal system<\/a><\/span> connecting Milan with the main rivers, the large lakes in northern Italy, and finally with the sea. \u00a0The resulting network of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guidedtourmilan.com\/en\/tour-milan\/a-stroll-along-the-canals\/\">canals<\/a><\/span> and the href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Francesco_Melzi\">Francesco<\/a><\/span>, the son of this noble family and a painter himself.<\/p>\n<p>Besides Melzi\u2019s Villa, walking along the Martesana Canal and surrounded by a gorgeous nature, we\u2019ll see many other holiday residences of the Milanese aristocracy, learning about their glorious past.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n<section ><p>In our walk we\u2019ll continue visiting the 17<sup>th<\/sup> century building where the Duke of Milan\u2019s authority ruled the canal system and the use of water.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, the building offers some exhibits about Leonardo and a Multimedia Gallery with interactive copies of the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" he drew one of his famous sketches: the project of a chain ferry crossing the river Adda. \u00a0You can even imagine Leonardo at work, with his tools and his creative genius.<\/p>\n<p>All these
